If g(x) = 1/x, then

[g(x+h)-g(x)]/h

IS NOT

[gx+gh-gx]/h

which goes to

[gh]/h

and obtaining

g.

NOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!

As I zap and zap and zap this problem on the prelim quiz…

You have to start from

[1/(x+h)-1/x]/h…

And then get common denominators…

And then it will work!
