On Monday, I was walking the circle around Jarvis-Micheels-Applied Arts Halls (because the weather was too nice to be cooped up in the office all day). Near a loading dock, I found the following sign.
This probably seems quite innocuous. However, I was quite confused when I first read the sign. Because I transposed the “un” onto the “authorized.” That is, I saw the sign for a split second as “UNAUTHORIZED LOADING ONLY.”
Hmm… so I have to be unauthorized to load on this dock? Good to know!
Have you ever incorrectly transposed an “un” when given two words that both make sense when appending an “un” like what I did here?
