Interesting title, you probably guess. Well, there has been something that has bothered (or intrigued) me a little bit about some of the road signs that I see going to and from Chicago. I know that I wrote a blog post similar to this idea last year, but it bears repeating.
And it stems from my obsession with fonts!
Consider this sign:
Versus this one.
The former is in Clearview, but the smaller words are in Highway Gothic.
Whereas the latter is entirely in Clearview.
How do I know?
The letter E in capital letters. In Highway Gothic, the letter E is shorter in the middle.
