Meeting the family


When people date, one fairly inevitable part of developing the relationship is for each of the daters to meet the others’ parents and/or other family members.

Interestingly, for me, though I have only been in one boyfriend/girlfriend relationship (my current one with Dina), I have met parents and/or extended family of several of my close friends.

[O.C.T.O.B.E.R. V-28] Hospitality room

Last night, I drove over to Lake Geneva (a Long-40-Minutes drive from my apartment) and played in the Central States Regional bridge tournament. I played in the Open Side Series game, partnering with Mike J. Although we didn’t earn masterpoints, I still had a great time!

For every person, the holidays mean something different. For some people, it’s a time to be with family and enjoy the company. For some people, it’s a time to dread going to see family, and maybe to drink sorrows away. For other people, it’s a time to avoid family entirely.

I’d like to reflect on my experiences with family as it relates to the High Holidays.
