[O.C.T.O.B.E.R. VIII-26] Masochism

Yesterday, I said “three out of four ain’t bad.”

Well, the theme of today was “zero out of three ain’t good.”

As is somewhat customary during fall days, I watched 3 football games involving my teams:

UWEC 8-43 #16 UW Platteville.

Northwestern 0-20 #20 Iowa.

Nebraska 31-38 Indiana.

Yep, 0-3 with my alma maters and current employer, and all of them were humiliating home losses.

There was also North Central 49-6 Carthage :(, but the one saving grace was UW Stout 38-31 UW Stevens Point.

I’m a masochist for following my teams through their terrible football seasons, but once again Samantha and I fled the UWEC game early because of being insufficiently bundled up. It was 8-29 when we left, and as we got home, it quickly ballooned to 8-43.

[O.C.T.O.B.E.R. VI-28] Day of (near) perfection

The day itself wasn’t perfect, as it was cloudy all day and the temperature didn’t exceed 8 degrees (Celsius). Nevertheless, for being a sports fan involving FOUR different colleges, it was a near-perfect day.

The football teams that I saw went a perfect 3-0, and Stout won as well. The summaries:

[O.C.T.O.B.E.R. VI-15] We’ll all stick together in all kinds of weather

The line given here is one of the lines in the University of Nebraska school song “Dear Old Nebraska U.” It was quite applicable about more than just Nebraska yesterday, and points out my loyalty to individuals and entities that are salient to me.

2006 Final Four #TBT

Though I probably should have posted this yesterday for the anniversary of me going to my first NCAA finals event, I’ll do it today so as to make it an actual #TBT post. Here goes!

(Unfortunately, I have no photos, since this was during a time before I regularly had access to photography).
